Settlement description:
Bhumi ecovillage are human-scale full-featured settlements in which human activities are harmlessly integrated into the natural world. We are known like charity project for the protection of cows “Bhumy”, – the largest outside of India. Since 2008 we have saved more than 750 cows, calves and bulls. We have a traditional and at the same time unique for our time non-violent approach to the maintenance of cows.
For the last 5 years, the world’s only program to transfer cows to families who accept non-violent rules of care has been working for free. They take both the members of the settlement, and the local residents, and other spiritual settlements, who want more than cows.
"The appearance of a large number of cows in Vraja Bhumi project, on the territory of the village Bezvodnoe - which literally translates to "without water" - restored the microclimate of the ecosystem of the region. From the second year and already for nine years, the lake is surrounded by grass growing every spring."
It is located in the steppes in the south of Ukraine in the warm climate in the village “Bezvodne”. Now we have more than 15 families.
To the railway station Nikolaev 36 km and to the international airport Odessa – 128 km.
The first family settled here in 2008. There is a common house – the Vaishnava Temple. The settlement members follow the Vedic Vaishnava spiritual path and engage in self-development.
We collect honey in non-violence way. This year we started gift-economy.
We study and share agricultural technologies based on natural products of the cow. Welcome guests and volunteers.
